Neighbor down alert detail

Alert The neighbor ${NeighborIP} on Node ${Node.Caption} went down.

What variable can I add that will tell me the name of ${NeighborIP}, and how would I set up that neighbor in Orion for it to report properly? We get Neighbor down alerats, and dont know what device it is that went down until the node down alert is triggered, or not at all because the neighbor is dual homed.

I don't have this exact alert, but I did just find when I have a node go down and I receive the email, I was able to adjust the email content. Under Manage Alerts > Alert Manager, edit the alert and go to Trigger Actions. If it is auto sending an email it will be under here and I have mine set up to pull from the Custom Properties one titled Customer.

Hope that gives you an idea of what way to go.

Where do I put this, in the subject or message? Ideally I want it in the subject line.

You can put it in anywhere you want Subject or Message Body.

If the neighbors Node that goes down is not monitored by NPM you will receive the variable text instead of the matching node caption

Also this variable will only work in trigger action it will not work in the reset action

Test the variable with the simulate in the alert trigger action
