Creating ServiceNow Incident with IF/Then/Else statement

Good Morning Denizens of Thwack,

Scope:

I am working to create an alert action to generate an Incident in ServiceNow.

Goal:

I would like to set the Assignment Group (in ServiceNow) to be whichever group is listed in the Primary_Admin custom property field (NPM).

The Rub:

We have several items that have not had the Primary_Admin property filled out.

In the such an event (${N=SwisEntity;M=Volume.CustomProperties.Primary_Admins} == "") we would like to mark the Assignment Group to our Operations team.

Is this achievable from the Orion/SWQL side of things?If so, how would I create the call/statement?

The magic bullet turned out being:

${N=SWQL;M=SELECT isnull(Primary_Admin,'Operations Group') as Primary_Admin FROM Orion.NodesCustomProperties}

create two alerts --

1. if the Primary_Admin is populated, and use that to create the Incident

2. if Primary_Admin in not populated then create an incident record with the Operations team as the assignment group

Hello,

you can use SWQL macro for this particular case:

Example:

${N=SWQL;M=SELECT isnull(City,'test') as city

FROM Orion.NodesCustomProperties where nodeid=${N=SwisEntity;M=NodeID}}

If city will be NULL (empty) it will put Test as city.

1. Insert SQL/SWQL macro.

2. Put there this query:

SELECT isnull(City,'test') as city

FROM Orion.NodesCustomProperties where nodeid=${N=SwisEntity;M=NodeID}

3. click insert.
