Ver 7.7 Syslog Rule Message Severity empty!
praghubar
I have upgraded from ver 7.2 to ver 7.7 on Win2003 Server with latest updates. I am trying to configure Syslog Rule, but the Message Facility and Message Severity boxes are empty. Does anyone know how I can populate these boxes or Why I am having this problem?
Thanks
Peter
Solarwinds Support replied to my email with a fix. Re-run config and problem resolved.

This is similar to a problem I had with the beta release. It sounds like your database doesn't have all the proper columns/fields in the various Syslog tables. Run through the database portion of the configuration wizard again to see if this resolves the issue.

Guys this is right on time. I also ran the suggested fix for that problem, and its worked perfectly. Thanks for that post.

Worked like a charm for me as well. I didn't even loose the data that had been loaded in to the database.
At first I was concerned the only way to get to the wizard was to re-install the entire app but I found the wizard exe file.
For those who need to go through this themselves, the path is as follows:
C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Network Performance Monitor V7\NetPerfMon-Wizard2.exe
Just run the wizard, select the DB you used during the initial install and let the wizard do the rest. When you're done click on the "Show Details" button and look towards the end of the log. You should see an entry about adding the facilities to the database.
To verify the process did in fact work launch the SyslogViewer, open the Syslog Server Settings menu and click the "Alerts/Filter Rules" tab. Next click on "Add Mew Rule" followed by the "Severity / Facility" tab. If everything did in fact work you should see your updates.
