NCM Integration

We are attempting to integrate NPM with NCM. All the applications have been upgraded to the most recent version. NPM 9.1 SP5 and NCM 5.1.1.

When we enter the credentials within the NPM web page it breaks the user account with the following error.

Orion Website Error
An error has occurred with the Orion website.

Additional Information
System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.

We have a case open on this issue: 94049 - "Admin login receives timeout error"

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

The URL for the NCM integration is very sensitive - I don't remember if it wanted the http or not. I was having this same problem, but I was able to fix it by carefully making sure I was putting in the correct URL (with or without http:// uri) and I was using a username/password recognized my NCM.

I'll check it out tomorrow and update this post, but in case you read this before I do, try playing with http://.

I suspect that it has to do with NCM taking 3-5 minutes to log in. We have approximatly 1500 devices in Solar Winds and when NPM tries to connect to NCM it times out because of the login period.

I saw a few threads on timouts but was unable to determine if there was a variable that could be changed to extend the timeout window.

I suppose that's possible. My website is quite slow as well.

Anyway, as promised:

Hostname or IP address is SERVER

Speaking of website timeouts - I'm not sure if Support would recomemnd this, but a generic IIS/ASP.NET tweak is to edit the web.config file of the IIS root folder with the problem.
This tweak will modify the execution timeout before an ASP.NET page is considered to be unresponsive and the request is terminated. This value is in seconds.

Under system.web, add:
