monitoring and alerts

Hello All,

I have a question in regards to monitoring and alerts. The company i work for we have set Solarwinds up works perfect, alerts on the locations, bandwidth usage alerts all the good stuff.

Now what i want to do is be able to monitor the circuits, so my question is;

Is there a way for me to add an alert or action to the circuit that is linked to our ISP to show me whether the link is actually down rather than the the whole site and me having to investigate if it is an internal issue or an ISP. So like the sites which i have mapped out as green and they change color when something changes in the network to orange and red or what ever the status. would i be able to do the same thing for the actual link itself, to change on the screen when the circuit is down to change color?

Anything that you monitor in Solarwinds can be reported on. So it can email you if an interface goes down to an ISP etc.

As for maps, you can create these in Orion Network Atlas. You can monitor the link in the map for up/down status. If it goes down, the link will turn red. So I colour all my monitored links in green so it's easy to see which ones I monitor for status. Green is good, red is bad

If I have misunderstood I apologies, but, you will need to add your Router as a monitored node using SNMP, then within your Interface license for NPM you can monitor those interfaces that the circuit is connected to.

This will give you real time utilization and also weather it is up or down along with a whole host of information.
