Could anyone please tell me how to do a successfull rollback?
Uninstall 10.4 then install 10.3.1 and run configuration wizard?

Not that I have done it, but I suggest uninstalling 10.4 keeping a backup of important files see the server migration guide http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/OrionServerMigration.pdf.
Restore the database from before the upgrade to 10.4.
Install 10.3.1 and hook it up to the restored database.
You would loose all the data since your upgrade to 10.4 with this method.
We backup our database before the upgrade and perform a VM snapshot for rollback.
Hi there,
Thanks, i appreciate you taking the time to answer but i'm afraid this methid doesn't cut it for us.
We have backups that we can restore though i'd rather do a rollback and keep ALL modules installed and configured correctly.
Unfortunately depending on the database changes made during the upgrade, there is no way to rollback the installation. The method that ">leightonium lists above is the only way to achieve a rollback. Uninstall the software, restore a backup of the database taken prior to upgrading as a new database, re-install the previous version, rerun the configuration wizard to point to the newly restored database.
