I am finally messing around more with Custom MIB polling and found that it appears that the Custom MIB Poller is not polling OIDs on downed interfaces. I have set up Orion to poll some OIDs from the ds3xCurrentTable on three channelized DS3 interfaces. As a test, two of the interfaces are down and one is up. I set up the poller 15 minutes ago and found that only the "up" interface was collecting MIB data. When I purposely caused that interface to go down, polling stopped completely until I brought the interface back up. Please bear in mind that I am not "disabling" the interface, but rather making a configuration change to cause the DS3 to go into alarm.
If this is by design, I'd say that this is a problem, since the MIB I'm polling has OIDs that accrue errors when the DS3 interface is down. If this is a bug, has anyone else come across this yet?
