Custom OID

Would it be worth having an area where us customers can post OID's we are using so the Orion community can share there experiences and usage, I don't know about anyoe else but some particular OID's have taken me sometime to find.

Possibly in the forums or an area with the customer area on Solarwinds website?

Comments would be useful.

Can you give us more details on what you're thinking of? Just the OID? OID + Text? Files?

We may be able to do something, but we need to be sure it would meet your needs.

I'm thinking of a general customer area that we can post Custom MIB details that we are using but also post customisations to Orion that we've made, custom reports we think other user would find useful, really anything that no non standard and would be useful to other users to make there lives easier.

I would love to see this in action as well.

I am looking forward to using some of the Custom MIB/OIDs for VOIP specific details on Cisco/Ericsson/Nortel/etc equipment.

Anyone else looking at VOIP at this time? Hints/Tips?

I think it would be very helpful for those people who haven't moved to 8 or are new users to be able to download the custom mibs of people like myself who've created extensive custom mib databases (mine is over 200mibs now) and be able to import them.

I'd be interested in getting the number of IPSec VPN sessions off a ASA5500. If anyone has it that would be great. Otherwise, I'll probably work on it next week.

How did you compile in the new mibs? I didnt see a mib compiler, or have I missed something?

Brilliant idea!!! Solarwinds guys, please do this, would be excellent!! We're working out some oid's for F5, APC & Mitel kit now so would be good to have somewhere to put them!

We are planning to add the ability to export Custom MIBs in 8.1. Once we have that, we will do what we can to help you all share pollers.

I have yet to upgrade to version 8, but was wondering if anyone is successfully monitoring the backplane of a 6500?

This CLI command is sh catalyst6000 traffic-meter.

I used to know the OID, but have missed placed it.

I found that using 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.1, also known as crasNumSessions is pretty accurate. I haven't figured out how to break out lan-to-lan from client but that's not a big deal. It also seems to be 1 or 2 off, possibly picking up management sessions?
