How to move Node details to Interface details

I have a slight dilemma. Another person setup Orion to monitor serial interfaces of a router as nodes. I would like to get the collected data (over a years worth) under the interface of the associated router. I'm not a SQL expert, but is there a query I can run to change the data to fall under the interface of the router?

I don't believe this is possible although I'm not entirely sure I understand the question. Node data and interface data have no real similarities.

OK, I'll describe it in more detail.

When Orion was originally setup someone added the serial port of a Cisco router using its assigned IP address as nodes instead of adding the router and having the serial ports as interfaces under the Cisco router. That being said I would like to move the IMCP statistics collected when the serial ports were a seprate node to now being a interface under their assicated Cisco router node.

If there isn't a easy way to do this (in the database manager) then my other question is, if I unmanage a node does it still take up one of 100 instance license limit?

Ah I see. well regardless whether a Node or interface it still takes a click and there is no way to do what you want since ICMP data is not collected for interfaces. As for the license question, yes the node would still count against the licensing, managed or unmanaged.

The normal method of monitoring a router is to add a Loopback interface & IP address and monitor that IP.
Then you would add all the discovered interfaces you want to monitor/gather stats for, using the "List Resources" button on the Node details page in System Manager.

It sounds to me like the previous Orion admin added the IP address of each interface she wanted to monitor as a separate node in Orion. In this case, you would only be able to save the historical info for one interface (just open System Manager & change the IP address from the serial interface to the loopback address of the router).
Remove the other interface IP's being monitored and do a List Resources on the Node with the Loopback IP.
Add all the interfaces you want monitored & setup alerts if an interface goes down.

Note, an SL100 license allows you to monitor 100 elements of any Type (Node, Interface or Volume).
In other words, you can monitor 20 routers with 5 interfaces each, or 100 routers with only 1 interface being monitored.
