Advanced Alerts not firing when referencing Custom Properties

I have a very simple alert that does not seem to want to fire. The only difference between this alert and all of the other alerts I have (that work fine) is that this one references a custom interface property. I am running NPM 9.1 SP3. Below is is the text of the alert, it doesn't seem to want to let me paste a screenshot....

Trigger Alert when all of the following apply:

Administrative Status is equal to Shutdown

type is equal to xdqa (custom property)

I have tried a few different types of statuses as well, nothing seems to make this alert fire.
