Feature Request - Netflow

It would be great if Orion could collect netflow from Cisco routers and report on that data just like on all the other data it reports on. We are looking into using netflow for SLA monitoring and accounting and having to install yet another server just for that purpose doesn't go well with the boss.

Here here!! I have asked this question as well and was told that there is something in the works, perhaps for Q2 of next year.

We use netflow as well and have an additional box and applications for that purpose. It would be really nice to incorporate that functionality into Orion.

I agree, netflow would be very useful to have. Another feature we would love is the ability to add custom MIB's!

I would agree. A windows NetFlow visualization product would be great. We are an SLX customer with a LARGE install base. This feature would probably help use keep with Orion SLX. As it stands we are starting to look at other products due to device grouping issues, lack of vendor MIB support, and NetFlow collection. I know that SolarWinds wants to be "vendor independent" but lets be real Cisco has 85% of the enterprise networking market, and Juniper, Extreme, and a few other support SFlow, or NetFlow, export.

Likewise, I think this is a good thing to be working on! Especially since there is another product that will integrate into SolarWinds that performs this currently... Scrutinizer by Plixer.

I don't think they should incorporate Netflow. It is memory hog and I would like to see Orion stay fast. I have a seperate Netflow server and I just created a menu item that links to it. I agree to add custom MIB's though

What are you using to monitor netflow?
