Hi I am wondering ... why can i not create a report, that uses the Hardware attribut under Node Details. As i see it there are two values for that attribut: * Psysical * Virtuel But how do i create a report that uses that attribut ?? Kind regards Kenneth Mogensen Denmark

Report over servers that are virtual or physical

I am wondering ... why can i not create a report, that uses the Hardware attribut under Node Details.

As i see it there are two values for that attribut:

Psysical
Virtuel

But how do i create a report that uses that attribut ??

I think I see what you are saying... how do you poll for or report depending on whether the Node is physical or virtual. In report writer I can't seem to find a property that returns either physical or virtual for a node either. It's obvious it must be in the database somewhere because as you said you see physical or virtual listed under hardware in Node Details. I don't monitor virtual servers today but am interested in this also...

Use Orion Report Writer on your main server. You can use one of its template called "Historical - CPU load and Memory" or you can create your own custom report depending on what you need

I've tried to do this as well, but the other issue that I'm having with that field is that some VM's are showing as "physical". Besides that, I took a quick glance through the nodes table and didn't find a hardware field... Not sure where it is hiding

I am also interested. I'm finding one difference with our virtual nodes is the SNMP machine name will resolve to the Virtual node's underlying physical server. It seems to be a consistant difference for the vnodes I have so far. When I add a virtual node I need to override the node name. Everything else looks correct so far....
