Custom interface poller question

All,

I would like to configure a custom poller to display the interface alias for any interface on a switch. I can use MIB Walk and see the OID values that I need to use and they test out correctly.

The question I have is this - will I have to create a separate poller for each interface, or can I construct one poller that will poll the correct OID regardless of which interface is selected?

One other thing I am puzzled about...

How do you add a custom poller to an interface (or for that matter a volume)?

The Custom Poller wizard appears to only allow you to assign it to the node. Do I add the web resource to the node details view or the interface details view, or both?
