Hello Everyone,
I am looking for the throughput utilization report for F5 device. I created the report but it seems showing wrong values as compare to F5 device console throughput.
I raised the case with solarwinds and got below response by application engineer after a month. Anyone experiencing the same issue?
I am wondering, NPM is not capable to calculate speed for F5 devices.
Here are feedback from our application engineer.
1. Mbps = speed | MBps = volume
1.1 Solarwinds reporting is based on volume, compared to your device UI it is showing speed
2. Best to match the time interval between the 2 different GUI (device GUI and Solarwinds GUI)
2.1 Your device is doing 10seconds poll and Solarwinds is doing 10 minute polls per default
2.2 If data exceeds the number of days it will be summarized and deleted in the database, so basically what we are seeing is a summary of the throughput monitoring in Solarwinds
2.3 We cannot compare the data in the device GUI because of first, the reason above, Mbps = speed | MBps = volume, and Solarwinds report volume and not speed.
This being said there is no difference and data cannot be compared because of the difference. Solarwinds is doing it's task to gather or poll data and summarize it and display in the GUI/Orion console.
Thanks,
Alan
