Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Solarwinds and SuSE Linux
baxel
Hi all,
I have trouble to monitor my SuSE Linux 9.2 System in Solarwinds Orion (Version 7.5).
I've installed the NET-SNMP Agent in the Version 5.0.9, 5.1.2 and 5.2.1.
I can start all different Versions of the agent and access the SNMP MIBs through Solarwinds, however Solarwinds always reports, that the Node is Down.
(I've compiled the Net-SNMP Package with ./configure, make, make test and make install)
Has anybody experienced the same Problem with SuSE 9.2 or has anybody a Solution for my Problem?
cheers from cold Switzerland
alex

baxel,
Node Up/Down status has nothing to do with the SNMP agent. Node Up/Down status is determined via ICMP (PINGs). SNMP is used for interface status, traffic, CPU Load, disk space, etc.
Also, traffic, CPU load, etc will not be collected if the Node status is down.
I suggest you find out why the Linux box is not responding to PINGs first.
