best way to setup disk space alerts based on volume drive letters

I'm setting up disk space alerts to alert me when the free space gets too low. I'm using diferent thresholds for different drive letters on the same node. I was going to have it set to alert me when a volume's free space falls below 30720 meg and then use the suppression to try and filter out the G drive.

If I put the suppression in won't it not alert me to the other drives? also I don't see the value to use the drive letter, where is that at? I can see the indexes but not drive letters?

Hi,

I've solved it by simply adding some custom fields to the volumes (Warning Threshold, Critical Threshold, Allow_SMS)

And that's how the alert looks like:

This is how you can eliminate unwanted drives from the alerts (by setting Allow_SMS to false).

The drive letters can be seen here:

Actually what you see is the whole label, in order to eliminate unwanted info and leave only the drive letter you can use the following in the alert itself:

${SQL:Select Substring ('${Caption}',1,2) AS Caption} (if you want to see "C:")

${SQL:Select Substring ('${Caption}',1,1) AS Caption} (if you want to see "C")

How od you do it if you have different thresholds for different volumes on the same server?

I don't see the problem, each volume has its own threashold and the alert is per volume....

OK, did you add a column in the SQL database for this or did you add a custom value through the web GUI? Is there a training video that covers custom values somewhere? thanks this sounds really good.
