Alert Suppression

How is everyone doing alert suppression? For example, say I'm monitoring 3 routers connected by wan links as follows:

Orion --- RouterA --- RouterB --- RouterC

Here's what I want: If RouterA goes down, I want to be paged about RouterA, but not RouterB or RouterC.

The only way I see that I could do this would be to set up an alert for each individual device... which would take way too much time. There has to be a better way...
