Hi there,
I have been trying to find a solution that can monitor our Windows 2003 DHCP server, and create alerts when a scope is full. But I simply cannot find anything, and I have tried to use custom MIB pollers.
Can you help me ?
That would be very useful so if there is a way we can use Orion NPM to do this then I would also like to know the answer.
Solarwinds Engineers Toolset has DHCP scope monitoring. If it could be autopublished to a web page, it could be dynamically linked into Orion.
Currently the best it can do is publish DHCP scopes in use to a web page manually.
Yes, this would be a great feature. I run our DHCP on MetaIP on Solaris boxes I currently run a different product that sends me a page/email etc if one of my lease pool/scopes are below a certain level.
I have worked with the Solarwinds tech's trying to duplicate this in a easy way but there was none. They did like my request and said they turned this over to development. So maybe something will come of it one day.
We currently use IPAM from the toolsets to give us some visibility of our DHCP scopes big problem with this is that it doesn't run as a service so we have to leave it running on the consol of the server it will also automatically update a web page with the latest results so we just link this into Orion.
There's not an alerting function but it has made it easier to track how much each DHCP scope is used.

Don't know if you have found a solution since the initial post - using Universal Device Pollers we can now see the status of the MS DHCP scopes.....
