Custom Properties - database synch?

I have added an interface custom property on an Orion implementation that previously had no CPs for interfaces.  When I try to write an advanced interface alert that checks the value of this custom property, I am not given the option - the drop down for Interface fields in the trigger condition window does not contain Custom Properties.

I have another implementation of Orion that has several interface custom properties and those are available in the drop down box when configuring alerts on that server.

Is there a database synch that needs to happen before I will see that option?

I don't know about the alerting interface, but I have needed to do this for it to show up in reports:

Open Custom properties, click the little down arrow to add/remove buttons, customize.  Add "Update Report Schemas" under Commands, properties.
