Wireless devices and elements

I know taking wireless elements out of the elements count was a great thing for licensing but I find it throws off server and enviorment sizing because you are really monitoring more elements then the count shows. More than once I have heard from support "well it must be because of all the wireless you monitor" but no one knows for sure because its not in the count.

I would propose adding a wireless count (maybe there is one I just do not know where) if we cannot say put wireless back in the elements count.

Maybe I am just crazy but for someone like me who has over 400 APs the elements count on a poller is very misleading at this point.

As a temp workaround, you can get the number of thin AP's by executing this query against SQL - Select count(*) from NPM_NV_WL_INTERFACES

Sorry I gave Brandon some bad information. The above SQL statement returns the number of radios, not access points. To count the access points use the follow SQL statement instead:

SELECT COUNT(*) FROM NPM_NV_WL_APS WHERE AP_RogueAP IS NULL
