Monitor VMware local drives

I was wanting to know if you can monitor local hard drives on the vmware hosts and the virtual drives. Wanted to see if you could get alerts when a disk is getting full or having problems locally or virtual.

Not at this time. We're considering it for a future release.

So even if you create a custom MIB, you still cannot monitor them.

When you click on a VM, can you see the actual hard drive space or the LUNs.

Now this mainly Shows the CPU, Memory, Network Traffic of each VM Machine hosted on the ESX (3.5) server.

Also shows ESX Servers Disks,

but as for breaking this down per each VM on ESX then UnDP Custom Poller might be what you need.

And have this display on ESX Server Details page also.

As for your Question there is no supported method for this on ESX Page.

It has been brought to DEVs attention and may be included as ESX Resource in future.

But in meantime below shows a few alternative methods that may help.

Again, some are Customers workarounds.

You can Setup Alerts on APM/UnDP Custom Pollers afterwards Also.

You could simply Enable SNMP on each VMMachine:

In order to see Disk info per VM Machine, monitor each VM through SNMP.

Add each VM Machine like you would any other node in Orion, this should pull info needed from MIB.

Just Monitor as would any other Windows Server.

Disk Volumes Resource on Node Details Page, will show the Disks for that VM.
