Does changing SNMP V3 credentials loss historical data of node

Hi there,

I need to update SNMP V3 credentials for my Cisco network devices but keeping the same SNMP V3 username.  If I add a new SNMP V3 credentials profile and rediscover the node, will my historical performance data be lost for the same node?

No, everything should remain in the DB.  I've changed SNMP v3 auth/priv and username and then rediscovered the nodes with the new creds and retained all historical data. I've even changed from SNMP v1 to SNMP v3, back to SNMP v1 and back again to SNMP v3 and i didn't loose anything.  I might have lost a few things but what ever it was was minimal and most likely invisible to the masses.

The only way you should loose data is if you delete the node and then rediscover or if you change from one node version to another.  In this case you would have to delete interfaces or hardware data that's no longer relevant to the device.
