Options for doing basic ICMP monitoring in a remote subnet

Hi,

We have a small isolated VLAN with devices that we wish to monitor by simple ICMP, the problem is we dont want wide openings from our internal networks to that isolated VLAN.

We can accept that the main solarwinds server has some few openings toward a single server in that isolated VLAN though, but nor towards the entire vlan.

Any idea's on how to accomplish this using Solarwinds?

We do also have MS OpsMgr available we're we can have a remote agent dropped in that VLAN, but I would prefer to get these devices monitored through SolarWinds instead
