New Menu Tab

Afternoon,

I am trying to create a new Menu bar but I cant seem to find the right place to do it.

I know how to create the view and add them into existing menus but I want a new menu -

I want to create a new tab like "Home" "Network" or "IP Addresses"

Where would I do this please?

Hello smiffy85 those tabs represent the modules you currently own (ie. Network for NPM and IP address for IPAM). I don't think there's a way to add a customized tab here..

Yes I know, but I figured it would be something we could customise to give us more scope to create views and menus.

In my example, I wanted to create a few Capacity related views and reports and give access to only the colleagues that need it.

I think a whole lot of us want this feature. It has been a feature request for at least 5 years now. I can't wait to actually see this make it into a NPM release. It is a much needed feature.

The next release of Orion doesn't allow this, but you may well find the new menu system gives a more flexible solution anyway.

Go to Settings - Customize Menu Bars - AT the Bottom of the page you should have an option to Create a new menu bar.

Once your menu bar is created - edit the account you want to add this menu to and add and order it there.

This doesn't get you a new tab. This gets you a new menu bar to use within a tab. The tabs are Home, Network, Applications, Configs, Storage, Virtualization, etc. The tabs are currently used for the modules, but we would like the ability to create our own new CUSTOM tab (which we could associate a new menu bar with).

Thanks cahunt this indeed changes the menu bar, and is quite useful. I can make this work for what I want.

It isn't, as goodzhere says, a new menu bar in addition to the module menu bars (tabs or whatever you want to call them) but it certainly works well for what I need right now.

New menu/tabs would be very good.

Now that I have a method in which to create a nw Menu Bar and use it, extra points to the Thwacker that tells me how to change the name of the tab...

New Menu Bar created and in use, I am using the "Toolset" menu as no one uses that apart from me. Problem is, it still says Toolset....would like to change it..

smiffy85 That is exactly why there is a Feature Request in. lol. You can use an existing menu bar and assign it to a tab. After you create a new menu bar, you can't change the name of it afterwards (that I am aware of). You also cannot change the name of the default tabs (or Add a new one).

Indeed goodzhere but for now, this will suffice for me, even though it isn't really what I want.

Feature Request needs approval methinks.

You essentially have to trade Menu's - but my current version you can not add Tabs. I am not sure about the most recent version of NPM - I think there is at least a feature request to allow for additional tabs to show.
