Installing 9.1 SP1

Question

I've just run the SP1 install and the NPM service has locked up trying to stop, I've had to reboot the server. I tried again and the same thing happened so in the end I've had to disable the service from starting reboot and then runn the SP.

Is this a problem with the service or the server it sits on?

If you download the eval package again, it will include SP1 with it, and it will run it automatically.  Try that, and if it gives that error at the end, then contact your SE.  It would suggest that there's something left behind that's indicating that it's a production install rather than an eval install.

I am using the Eval copy of 9.1 for testing the SP1

As guided by the Support engineer i have downloaded the the SP for Eval copy from the following link only

ftp://ftp.solarwinds.net/Orion/ServicePack/Orion9.1-SP1-Eval.zip

and getting the same issue.

Its a fresh installation of NPM9.1Eval with new DB

Hello.. . you do not have to restart the server if you have that issue..  Just kill the process in  "Windows Task Manager"... that will let the SP1 continue the installation...
