I have been having some ideas about what do to further the development of my solarwinds environment.  I have it almost how I want it (albeit rebuilding my alerts.)

I was thinking about quality over quantity.  Specifically WHAT information is being sent in the alerts.

I have had a few ideas and would like to see what people think:

Customer                       A, B, C

Application Owner         X, Y, Z

Type                               Physical Server/Virtual Server/Appliance:Enclosure/Appliance:Firewall/Appliance:Switch/etc.

Role                                Terminal Server/Web Server/Database Server/Load Balancer/etc.

Resilience                      Yes/No

Location                          active/passive/other

Description                     Short form description of the device

Information                     Important information relating to the device

So that when an alert comes through you can see all of the relevant information

Those are pretty similar to my basic node alert template.  I figure the idea is that anything that might help you troubleshoot an issue is a good idea to include in the messages so people don't have to go digging it up during an outage.
