When to choose MS SQL Standard over Enterprise

I need to know what the creteria for choosing MS SQL 2005 standard vs Enterprise database for ONPM 9.5.

I will be setting up two MS SQL DB servers cluster for the database. However, there is a major price difference between the Standard and Enterprise MS SQL.

I will be going with the Standard version of MS SQL since both Thwack and SolarWinds Suupportt both state that either works. I could not find any solid guidelines for paying the extra costs of the Enterprise version when it came to the ONPM Database requirements.

Thanks for document. However, I was looking for Solar Winds guidlines for choosing one or the other. Per their documents either versions will work. They do not say why or when Standard should be used or whne Enterprise should be used.

Do you know if S.W. has such a document for ONPM 9.5 database selection?

Our inplementation will only be monitoring 1500 deices the first year or two.

We don't really make that granular of a recommendation but why dont we see what the thwack community recommends/uses?

I'm only using the standard version and from I can tell SolarWinds doesn't require any of the extra features you get with the enterprise version.
