I'm trying to transition our monitoring from Nagios to Orion. On the Nagios side, disk space was being monitored by something called NSClient (Net Saint). Can Orion use this as well, or would we need to use SNMP or WMI?
Thanks!
Orion uses SNMP for monitoring disk space so no client installation is necessary as long as SNMP is already installed on the server.
Orion can also use WMI to monitor disk space for your Windows servers. If you add the node as WMI, however, you'll be unable to monitor interfaces on that node. If you need both, as Samuel says, SNMP will be your best bet.
NSClient is not net saint lol, Net Saint was the original name for Nagios, NSClient is something totally different.
