Trying to add a new device to a existing group

Basicly I am trying to add a node under "ADMIN" in the Preformance Monitor.

This node I need to go under a existing Group but every time I add one it goes in the "unknown" column. I am not sure how to get it under that specific group.

Can I do it here or do I have to do it under configuration Manager?

Hi,

When a node goes to the Unknown , it can be due to 4 things listed below (hopefully I am not missing one :

1) You added the device as an ICMP node. Orion rely on SNMP to get more information from the device.

2) You added the device as an SNMP node but for an unknown reason it cannot retrieve the SNMP information from it.

3) SNMP is working well but Orion does not know how to map the System OID of the device. This can be the case with devices that have not been added yet to the Discovery db of Orion.

=> If you are sure this is 3), post here the details of your equipment: Tell us your "Unknown" devices !

4) Your group is based on a Custom Property, you can configure it when you add your node or through the Custom Property Editor (Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > Grouping and Access Control).
