It has been some time since I have got in and played with the universal Device poller.

As I remember it, there was a way we could go in and see all of the mibs in the solarwinds database.  Then drill down to the vendor or the device from there. 

I can't seem to get to the point where I can actually see the Mib database.  Any help out there?

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you can browse the MIB tree when you create a new universal device poller.  In the Define Your Universal Device Poller window, click the Browse MIB Tree button.  That will allow you to drill down through the MIB tree to find and test the OID you're looking for.  Once you find your OID,  you can select a device from your inventory to test.
