Newly installed vman 8.1 integrated with Sam 6.5 and NPM 12.2

, vcenter credentials not working

Output:

Test failed. Cannot login with selected Vcenter or ESX host Credential

According to the vmware administrator he also tried other valid credentials.

I would recommend to try if there is connectivity from the Orion server to the vCenter on port 443 (HTTPS). Basically just RDP the Orion server and test the following URL https://IPVCENTER:443 If something comes up, it means that at least you have access to the SDK and therefore, the issue probably is with the username and password.

just found out that Vcenter sits on a linux server.

how does that effect the sw console vman to vcenter ?

We're having the same problem. We just upgraded to 8.1 VMAN on Orion NPM 12.2 and decommissioned our VMAN appliance. We have not been able to use known working credentials to authenticate VMAN with our vcenter. Just worked with the support team at solarwinds and they duplicated the problem but are now seeking logs to help troubleshoot.

We logged into the Orion server and used our browser to authenticate with the http://vcenter/mob and did so successfully. However those same credentials are not working in vman settings.

Looks like the resolve was the default port was accepted and not the port that was being used by out vm admin.
