Looking to add a new machine type to the DB

I have about 400 hp ilo's that show up as unknown. Couldn't i add something to the database that will show HP ilo's when i show All Nodes grouped by vendor?

What would be the best way to get them out of the unknown list and into a known device type or machine type list?

Is there any docs out there that would walk me through this?
