NPM/SAM can't access Thwack for templates or pollers

Question

I have a strange one here. On an Orion NPM 12.0.1 server running SAM 6.3.0 NPM and SAM fail to communicate with Thwack to get content.

I have checked the following:

- Proxy settings under admin settings are configured to use the proxy and tests successful

- From the server, I can hit both SolarWinds and Thwack from either IE or Chrome without an issue so that connection is go - not port related

- Also, can't load pollers from Thwack.

- Of note, NetPath fails as well when trying to monitor outside locations

Ideas?

Ok I found a fix that worked for me. It's a little strange that you need to do this even after configuring the proxy settings under Settings > Product Specific Settings > Proxy Settings. Access Thwack templates through proxy - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support * Click Start > My Computer > C:\inetpub\solarwinds. * Right-click web.config file and open with a text editor. * Locate for section. * Add the following parameters to the section, as given below: * Click Save.

Did you ever resolve this issue? Just did a fresh install of NPM 12.2 and i'm running into the same problem with the Manage Pollers > thwack Community Pollers giving me an error that Orion can't access https://thwack.solarwinds.com. I'm also using a proxy but I'm able to test the internet connection to solarwinds.com and thwack.solarwinds.com successfully on the proxy page and was also able to apply my licenses via online.

Do you have access to any proxy servers or any other network gear in the path?  Can you install Wireshark on your server?  Or temporarily SPAN/ RSPAN a port?
