Hi All,
Due to awful performance issues i've got our server guys to get me a new server with perfect specs for NetPerfMon backend SQL.
I've migrated an old SQL2K database to SQL2005 on the new box, cleaned down the database (ie. Traps, InterfaceErrors..etc) and run the configuration wizard to re-point the database and all came up without a hitch.
My next step was to upgrade NPM from 9.1 to 9.5 which is where I fell over. I had massive issues which i've been through with support today (who were ace as usual) and after a mind boggling SQL issue which turned out to be to do with "Lock Page Permissions" support.solarwinds.com/.../ProblemDetail.cfm i finally got NPM 9.5 installed. Unfortunatelly we'd had to uninstall APM and NetFlow as part of the troubleshooting and upgrade process, so now to put them back on...
When I try and install NetFlow 3.5 it tells me that NPM 9.5 isn't installed and that I need up upgrade from 3.1...hmmm ok, no biggy, but when I install NTA 3.1 it installs fine but in the Configuration Wizard after installation i recieve the following error after being told that my database requires "significant reconfiguration":
Database configuration failed:
• Error while executing script- The file 'D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Data\Orion_Data' cannot be overwritten. It is being used by database 'NetPerfMon'.
The file 'D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Data\Orion_Data' cannot be overwritten. It is being used by database 'NetPerfMon'.
Support are coming back to me on this and a case is open but I thought either someone may know a reason for this or how to solve it or at the very least, it would be useful to have it documented on thwack for someone else later down the line
Cheers for looking
