D-Link DWL-3200AP

When will Orion support recognizing D-Link APs as APs? I have been watching this for quite some time in forums and I don't see any new news. I opened a support ticket and you are still only supporting Cisco and Arruba according to the support rep.

Quoted by support: "Currently the wireless portion of Orion only supports Cisco and Arruba AP's (or any AP's that respond to the cisco or arruba OID's)"

I support 31 of the D-Link DWL-3200AP in my environment and it would be nice to have centralized managment for these, otherwise we will have to look at other alternatives like ManageEngine's WiFi Manager. We don't want to spend additional money on other software although the WiFi Manager works very well.

So let me hopefully clear some things up. For Controllers, we currently only support Cisco and Aruba. For autonomous AP's, if they support the 802.11 MIB, they should work in Orion.

Have you tried adding them to Orion and if yes, what happens?

Try creating a Universal Device Poller with the OID of :

1.2.840.10036.4.8.1.3

do not assign the poller just test it against one of your D-Link AP's and see if it responds.

I have all of the 31 added to Orion. I don't have the option for wireless monitoring for any of them under list resources. I was asked the following by support. The answer is no....they do not respond to any of these OIDs.
