Hi,
I have recently started monitoring a Juniper SA2500 SSL VPN machine. This has its own MIB file that can be downloaded from the admin control panel.
How can i go about adding this MIB to the MIB database that NPM uses? Many Thanks
Hi Daniel,
You can first download the latest Orion MIB database and install it. If the MIB you need is still not there open a case online and we will add it to the db.
Steps to install the MIB database are into the archive. You basically just need to replace a file.
Link to download the latest Orion MIB database: ftp://ftp.solarwinds.net/cmb03/MIB-Database/MIBs.zip
Link to create a case: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/ticketThanks

Hi
i am monitoring the same device.....It pops up as a linux box instead of a Juniper device.I downloaded the latest MIB file with the help of your link.I am still not getting any recognized OID or MIB's any suggestions??
Hello Gerjan,
Which SysObjectID is returning your Juniper device?
To check the SysObjectID, Open System Manager. Right-Click on your Juniper device and select Node Details.
1) SysObjectID returns Net-SNMP or any Linux ID.
If it returns the Net-SNMP SysObjectID, then Orion will report it as Net-SNMP/Linux.
You will have to contact Juniper to know how you can modify the SNMP agent to return the correct ID.
On some servers you can directly edit the snmpd.conf configuration file. On Appliances, usually such settings are locked down by the vendor. See the following post:
2) Device is reporting the correct ID .
Open a case with us as this should not be displayed as a Linux device. This might be a bug.
Instead by default it should display Unknown, hence the following thread.
Tell us your Unknown Devices !
HTH,
