Basic newbee question on grouping nodes for alert purposes

I want to set up a memory utilization alert for three different groups of servers: Exchange, SQL, and everything else. It looks to me like the best way to do this is to set up a custom property for each group of server and then setup advanced alerts for each group. Is this the best way to accomplish this?

Yes, setting up Custom Properties to separate SQL and Exchange from the rest of the devices.

As for the rest of the devices, you can choose to use Alert Suppression:

Suppress Alert when ANY of the following apply:
   <Custom Property> equals to SQL
   <Custom Property> equals to Exchange

* Note that indenting, and also that suppress when ANY and not the default all, as it is not possible to have a Node that has the Custom Property being equals to SQL and Exchange at the same time.

Also, replace <Custom Property> with the name the one that you have created.
