Creating custom graphs for montly errors & discards...

Hi, all

I am running orion NPM 9.0, I want to create custom graphs for recieve/Transmit errors and discards which occurred for last month or for a year or for custom period.

I searched in Top XX summary charts but i got only the current day's error & discards.

also I want this option in report writer.

is it possible..?

Report Writer does not allow the creation of graphs. You could create reports that give you the data you need but it would only be in text form. As for custom periods, the reports are static in nature so once you save a report you can't on the fly change the reporting period via the web page. If you want a number of periods you would need to to multiple reports (ie weekly, monthly, yearly).

There is a request in for report writer to do graphs but that is extremely difficult as an add-on to the existing report writer and Solarwinds support has already stated that it should not be expected anytime soon.

ohh.. then can i extract the data from the database. if yes. then

what query i should give to get the monthly node error report..?

I need only the top 10 devices which has error receive/transmit packets for a month... and also on which port of that switch?

We do all of our reporting from the database. It is pretty rare that we use the report writer. If you are having trouble getting started with the database, you can build the report with the report writer, and then view the SQL code from there as well. This should help you get started.
