I've received service requests from various IT teams in our company where they give a list of around 20 - 50 machines.
What I did is the normal ADD NODE process - key in the IP, select SNMP & ICMP, type the community string, hit TEST, check the resources and define custom proerty values & finally add the node.
Some fail the SNMP test, some
But after doing this for about 10 devices, I questioned if there's a way to test it in bulk.
And if some will fail the test, I can then shoot an email to our Network team that they may have missed allowing snmp traffic between those machines & the polling engine, or send an email to our Infrastructure team to inform them to correct the SNMP community on their server(s).
Plus, the TEST button appears to only check SNMP and NOT "both SNMP & ICMP".
Do you know of any options for testing BOTH 'SNMP & ICMP' or BOTH 'WMI & ICMP' first in bulk even before adding them as nodes via Sonar or via ADD NODE?
Maybe I'm missing an NPM feature that's able to do this in bulk.
Any inputs?
