Modifying the IP address on an existing Linux agent based server

Hello,

We have a linux box, which was installed with a Linux agent. But, recently the server got new IP address.

When I updated the new IP, the agent shows below error.

Unexpected error occurred during the Agent deployment and/or installation

I tried to install the agent again. Do we need to provide installer and get it installed on the server?

Please advise asap.

Are you using server are agent initiated communication?

Are you firewall rules updated for the new IP, if this is a relevant item to investigate?

Yes, we did verify whether the ping, telnet with the port is working. All are fine with new IP. Still not working.

Try to delete & re-install the agent via "All Settings -> Manage Agents":

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion. Initially we did not want to lose the historic data. But, after taking confirmation from the Unix team, I have removed and tried to install the agent. Still it shows the same error.

When I tested the SSH + SUDO credentials, it failed. After I selected the package it shows test successful. But, when proceeded with agent deployment, got the mentioned error (in my original post).

Now, I am trying to get the agent installed on the server and then discover.

yes it happened with us too with some devices where it was not identifying the package name... then we installed the agent on the Linux server itself by the steps given in documentation then we were able to resolve it....

then we have to put our faith into the manual installation method as suggested by pratikmehta003 : Deploy an agent manually to a Linux/Unix-based computer
