Cisco Buffer Misses

OK ...Need to know more and at what point does this need to be investigated. I have a couple of switches that have a total of 27000 buffer misses ea ..... I understand what a buffer miss is but what are some causes....1 of these Cisco 3500XL switches has only 3 clients on it.....

That's an issue best addressed w/ Cisco.

However, you might want to baseline what SW is observing. Some buffer misses aren't too bad in and of themselves, but a sudden jump in misses could be the result of a software bug or memory leak, which may warrant some attention.

27,000 buffer misses isn't necessarily a lot to be concerned about.

We have noticed that restarting the SW service actually causes most of our Buffer Misses during the SW calibration...

Does it actually cause the miss, or is that what SW observes? Interesting, I'll admit.
