Is it possible to have a facility to be able to rename unknown devices with your own Vendor names, including ICMP only monitoring devices

I think custom properties will quit you better in this kind of scenario
feel free to have a look, you can customize a new properties called custom_vendors or something near.

+1 on this. My contention comes with the ICMP only - and custom properties wont really help when the page shows unknown type
