I decided to post this on here in case anyone else runs into this issue and what I did to resolve it.
When I tried to edit an interface through node management, the web page just kept spinning and then timed out with a "Exception of type 'SolarWinds.ApiProxyFactory.TransientApiProxyException' was thrown." error message. I first tried restarting IIS and then moved to the Solarwinds services. After those steps didn't work, I decided to check if editing a node also was having issues. It wasn't. For the heck of it, I checked the node of the interface I wanted to edit and found out that the APE set to monitor that node was down. After restarting the hung node, everything worked as expected and I was able to edit the interface.
