Hardisk Performance using SNMP

Dear all,

Can i do hardisk performance monitoring using SNMP at Solarwinds NPM ?

I mean like Avg. Disk Read Queue Length, Avg. Disk Write Queue Length, etc

Please tell me the step by step because i'm a new at solarwinds and SNMP.

 

I'm using NPM 10 SP1 and SNMP v3

How possible this is depends on what MIB's and OID's are made available by the device you are trying to poll.  Unfortunately not all vendors were created equally.  What data is available depends on the SNMP agent and the hardware that it's running on.

I would use the SolarWinds Engineers Toolset to do an SNMPWalk on the device that you want to monitor and then look at what values are available for monitoring.  Once you identify the items that you want to monitor you will then want to use the Universal Device Poller to configure specific pollers for the different OID's you are interested in.
