Can't clear alerts

Question

I have 4 alerts that popped last night. The conditions cleared, but the alerts remain. If I look them up in message Center or Alerts via the web page or the GUI on the server, the check boxes are grayed out so I can't get rid of them. They appear as active on the summary home page and the current values are "up". How do I remove them? Any suggestions/ideas?

I also tried unmanaging the offending switch ports to see if the alerts would go away. - negative.

I'm logged in as a full blown admin with no restrictions. I'm able to ack/clear other alerts, just not these for some reason.

The groups that the interfaces are in shows "Group does not have any problems." The interfaces in question in the group member list show "up".

They do not show up in adv. alert mgr. under active alerts or current events on the server. I have all options in "Include in Alert View" checked.

Are you logged-in as an account-limited user (i.e. do you have alert acknowledge privileges)? What kind of alerts are they? Are the objects on which the alerts have fired members of any groups or dependencies? How do they show up in Advanced Alert Manager?
