IE6 and the new web based "Manage Nodes" trouble?

Just curious if anyone else is having this problem. A colleague noticed that in IE6 (I usually use Firefox) that he gets an error message when using the new web based "Manage Nodes" in Orion. If he goes to add a node, he gets an error. I attached a screenshot of it.

Anyone else running IE6 and seeing the same behavior? Or is it limited to our branded copy?

I don't believe its an IE security related issue as it a local site...

Got a quick answer from the support team!! Its a known issue and here is the fix for those interested...

This issue is caused by an interaction issue between Orion 9.0 and SP1 for .NEt 3.5. Please complete the following step for a workaround.

Edit \Inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\MasterPage.master. Find this line:

Remove the action="#" part. That is, change it to this:

Save. Next time you load the pages, they should be working. As usual with edits to website code, running the configuration wizard will undo this change.

This is scheduled to be fixed by us in Orion 9.1 which will be out in the next couple of weeks.

Or, he could stop using IE 6. :-)

Not always a "choice" thing when you work in a big enterprise. >Definitely< not in my case, IE7 (or higher) isn't approved software. Neither is Firefox for that matter, but at least I can install it without losing my IE6 which is required for some corporate websites. And yes, I know we're behind on many things, we would still be running Windows 2000 if Microsoft didn't start charging us extra for support!! Now if only they would do the same for IE6 support!!

Oh, I know it's not an option for some folks. Otherwise, we'd stop supporting it. It's the wonkiest browser in common use. It generates the most bugs and the most extra work, so I have a personal vendetta against it. Maybe that's wrong, but I will still rejoice on the day that Microsoft forces it into retirement.
