Syslog messages at Orion website

I'm using Orion NPM 9.5 SP3. I added Syslog Summary and Syslog Messages related to Selected Node to Node detailes view of website. Whatever I changed there (logged to webconsole as admin) with EDIT button I got no messages at all or below error:

The "Syslog Messages related to the Selected Node" resource threw an exception..
The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Security.SecuritySessionClientSettings`1+ClientSecurityDuplexSessionChannel[System.ServiceModel.Channels.IDuplexSessionChannel], cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.
System.ServiceModel.CommunicationObjectFaultedException: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Security.SecuritySessionClientSettings`1+ClientSecurityDuplexSessionChannel[System.ServiceModel.Channels.IDuplexSessionChannel], cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.

Can you put exactly what you did to get this error? Might be best to open a support ticket to investigate

Hi Brandon,

I got this error at SysLog Summary when I went to router detailes and selected grouping by hostname. When changed grouping to "by IP Address" then I got information if there were any syslog messages for selected time frame.

SysLog Messages related to the Selected Node gives the error without regularity. I can not see it anyway. Sometimes the error comes when I changed period from last 2 hours to yesterday or to last 7 days however there are no any syslog messages (messages with severity>4 are filtered on NPM server by syslog rule). Sometimes the error comes when they are any messages to display). However I can go to syslog messages when clicking on Count number at SysLog Summary pane.

It looks to me rather like Orion web interface issue than router or SysLog itself related problem.

I assigned Case # 112642 for Solarwinds regarding the problem.

There is some observed rules:

1. "Related Syslog messages..." - looks ok when there is anything to display (if not - I got acceptable message "There are no SysLog messages") when selected time period is below "Last 24 hours". Otherwise red internal error code appears.

2. "Syslog Summary" - gives error if Selected Grouping Item=Host name and looks acceptable if Selected Grouping Item=IP address

problem has been addressed to SW support and is under evaluation as Case # 112642. I will post a message as soon as I get solution or some more info.

Solution was to truncate old Wireless and AM (prior to APM) tables at SQL server. Also truncated Syslogs Table.

Then NetPerfMon database has been shrinked.

SysLog error messages do not appear for last 3 days at Orion website.
