Servers showing up as unknown

Hi,

I went about installing the SNMP protocol on all our servers. Only 3 out of 24 are properly being polled by Solarwinds, the rest are listed as Unknown. Can anyone help?

Check the SNMP Community String that you use. Also the server where it accepts SNMP requests.

1. SNMP Services>Security> Accept community names> Add community string

2. SNMP Services>Security>Accept SNMP packets from these hosts > (NPM Polling engines) or set it to Accept SNMP packets from any hosts

Sorry I cant find these options anywhere. Is the SNMP security in the ADMIN menu of the Orion Web Console?

It is found on the target server you wanted to monitor

Windows Server

Start>Administrative Tools>Services>SNMP Services

Right Click SNMP Services and point to Security Tab
