Poller Status Warning: A poller is either approaching or in excess of its polling rate limit

So, I got this message on the SolarWinds dash board and was wondering... IT says I am at 85% of the maximum polling rate for the poller.  Is this something I can improve by increasing processors/speed and or Memory?

 

I have two pollers, the Primary is a physical box and my secondary is a virtual machine.  The physical server says it is at 78% polling rate.

 

Since the Virtual box is the one that is at 85%, would throwing additional processors/resources improve the polling rate as it would have more horsepower?

Hi,

Adding more resources to your poller won't make a difference to the maximum polling rate.

By changing the polling intervals you can change this. If you go to settings > polling settings you can change these intervals.

The default settings are what we recommend - if you change these it will have an impact on the max polling rate.

For example if you are monitoring 100 nodes and the "Default Node Statistics Poll Interval" is set to 1 minute it is the same as monitoring 1000 nodes to Orion.

The default is 10 minutes.

The only thing about this is that you won't have as 'real-time' monitoring as you would have with a lower interval.

Outside of this the only option to balance the load on your polling engine is to add another polling engine.
