My syslog server is on a different server. I would like to move it to the same the same box my Netperfmon database is on. How can I do this? Without over writing my database?

I may not be understanding your situation correctly. What Syslog Server are you refering to, the one in the Toolset? Orion has a built in Syslog collector which would feed into the Orion database. Also, depending on the size of your Orion installation, it is usually advised to not have the application run on the same system that services the database.

Ok...keep them separate...but the address my devices are writing to is different from my Orion server so I the information is not accessible from the web (which I would like to have.) Also be advised this is pre version 8 release.
Maybe I'm missing something....how many SQL servers do I need? Currently I have 2. One for syslog and the second for Netperfmon.
OK, just confirm that the Syslog service is running on the Orion system and then re-point your devices to send the syslog msgs to the Orion IP address.
Yes it's running on my old system....that I would like to take down.....except it has Syslog.
I've been down that road and the network team won't budge. They do not want to change the address on network devices. Any other options.
